Dear Theresa Mottoran (Director of Human Resources):

I am applying for employment for the Culinary Art Instructor position in the Canyon Hills School Department. I have always been interested in the field of Culinary Arts since an early age. I have been part of my family restaurant business for many years. I have learned every aspect of the restaurant business from cooking to the day by day office aspects of the business. My family restaurant had been in business for 36 years in Canyon Hills and it is just recently that our restaurant was sold. I have been Head Chef at the restaurant for the last 11 years.

I am currently enrolled in Career and Technical Program at Rakeland College. I have taken and have passed the required four course for me to be N.O.T.I. Certified. I am currently waiting for the Department of Education to give a date for when I can take my test. I am also Food Certified with the state and I am also T.I.P.S. Certified. I plan on taking more classes this fall. Through these classes that I have already taken I have discovered a passion for the field of education. Through my in-service at Thandem County High School, I have learned that patience and good communication skills are the utmost important thing when dealing with students. These skills were part of my everyday life running the restaurant. For your employees to understand what you want for the end result you have to have patience to explain to them in detail for certain foods are prepared to presentation. I am confident that my experiences will be an asset to the Canyon Hills School District.

I would like the opportunity to interview with you to present to you all my asset and experiences. I have attached my resume and my transcripts for your review. I look forward to hearing from you and possibly interviewing with you so we can talk about more about my experiences.

Sincerely,

Marcy Huggins
