Carla is Rusty’s 25 year old cousin from Brooklyn, NY. She has been on the mountain for six months. She originally went with her parents to visit her cousin. While there, she stole the ranger’s jeep for a joyride. It crashed! Carla’s punishment is community service. She has to work at the diner until she earns enough money to pay for the jeep.
Carla hates her job (mostly the fact that she has to work at all), she hates Chip and all his gross animals, and she hates her boss. She has special disdain for her customers. She can’t understand why in heaven’s name they would eat at the diner.
She is always trying to find a way to escape from her community service. She hits on truck drivers trying to convince them to let her stow away in their vehicles. She also tries to get fired since that is another way she could get out of her “torture” working at the diner. Carla invents bird-brain schemes to raise money to pay back her debt. In summary, her sole motivation is to get the hell out of the woods!
Carla is totally useless in the diner. She doesn’t do dishes because she might break a nail. She tells customers that they should go to other restaurants if they don’t like the food or the service. She constantly fights with the cook who is her off-screen boss.
